ANNUAL REPORT 2010-'11
Honorable distinguished guests, dear colleagues, parents and my dear loving children,
I consider it is as an honor and privilege to present before you, a brief report of the activities and
achievements of this privilegeous school during the year 201011.
It is to be stated that being the silver jubilee year the activities and programmes that took place
add a golden feather on the prestigious Al Uthuman English Medium School. This we could achieve by the
blessings of the Almighty God. Also it is to be stated that the mighty and able leadership of the combined
and devoted work of the teachers helped to achieve this.
STAFF AND STUDENTS
Whatever achieved is possible only with the devoted and able teaching faculty which consists of
37 members. We have on the role 607 students including HSS section. Teachers are fully qualified and
well experienced. They undertake extracurricular and co curricular activities in the spirit of co operation
and team work, dedication and devotion.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
At the outset let me express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the managing director and
managing trustee for rendering full support and guidance to discharge any duties as the principal of the
school especially during the jubilee year. I took charge as principal on 21.04.2010. This school was
established in 1984 by the late Dr. MA Abdul Jabbar, who was a great visionary educationist and
philanthropist known for his perseverance, commitment and determination. Though a doctor by profession
he was a social servant by conviction. Though a devout Muslim he was secular in his thinking and
approach. He was a friend to all and enemy to none. The main aim of starting the school was to provide
English education to the children of the backward and weaker sections of society. Quality education and
academic excellence is the objective of the school. This Al Uthuman school will work as a light house
showing the path of service and sacrifice to others.
WORKING OF THE SCHOOL
This is a school working according to KER syllabus up to higher secondary. All these years school
has been keeping an excellent record in the field of education.
The tradition of 100% pass in SSLC examination was kept up last year also. Our higher secondary
result was at par with the SSLC. The toppers were felicitated and cash awards were given.
Our school has spacious class rooms, well equipped and most modern labs, well stocked library
and best transportation.
As usual vacation classes for class X and XII were conducted from May 5th. Academic year
commenced from June 1st, 2010 and classes for XI in July. On the re opening CI Kazhakkuttom Sri.
Shanihan addressed pupils on the importance of traffic rules.
Every day the functioning starts with prayer devoting all t the almighty. Occasionally all teachers
come together in the principal’s room and pray together and instructions are given with uptodate
direction and orders received from higher authorities which enables everyone to work with one mind and
spirit.
STAFF COUNCIL
The staff council is the deciding forum for all activities. Sri. K. Hassan Kunju has been elected as
the secretary. Different charges were assigned to different members.

WORK EXPERIENCE AND EXHIBITION
Work experience, science, mathematics, social science exhibitions was conducted on Nov 15 and
16. School principal inaugurated the exhibition and maximum participation was there in connection with
silver jubilee. The winners took part in the sub district level competition al LVHS Pothencode. Parikshith
of STD XII won the first prize in clay modeling and participated in district level competition at St. Mary’s
HSS, Pattom.
SPORTS AND GAMES
Keeping in mind “A healthy mind in a healthy body” several activities are conducted during the
year under report.
Evening activity daily from 3 30 pm to 4 30 pm was introduced. Inter house competition were
conducted which made the pupils eligible in taking part in higher level competitions. New volley ball court
is set up with the support of the management and the pupils and their man power and was inaugurated by
the trustee Mrs Balkis Jabbar.
Inter school badminton selections were done in our indoor auditorium in sub district level and our
school became the runner up. Three students were selected for the regional selections. Our team school
participated in the inter school football tournament conducted by Christ Nagar School, TVM.
Annual sports meet was conducted on Dec 20, 21 and 24 in a better way. Our AJ institutions
consultant Sri. Kwaja Meiah inaugurated the meet and most of the pupil took part under kids, sub junior,
junior and senior sections. Medals and certificates are also given. It was a great success with the co
operation of all staff, non teaching staff headed by physical director Sri. N.G. Varghese.
Silver jubilee memorial interschool badminton tournament.
The interschool badminton tournament was conducted on 22nd January 2011. 10 teams from
Trivandrum district took part. The tournament was inaugurated by Sri. Kwaja Meiah. MMRHSS
Neeramankara won the rolling trophy. Al Uthuman School(Vishnu VGSTD

C) won the runner up.
Amalnath of XII A won the 3rd prize in national wrestling championship. Congratulations.
EXAMINATIONS AND EVALUATIONS
Teachers are very attentive in administering periodical tests which make the students serious in
studies. Those who are observed weak are given special attention. Especially the pupils of standard X
personally intervened along with the parents and teachers handling different subjects were conducted.
During that time the teachers will get an interaction with the parents and suggestions for better
study was given. This was based on the tests conducted. Classes for weak students i.e. poor in academic
performance conducted also classes are arranged for bright students that is for securing A+ grade. School
assembly is conducted twice a week or when the necessity is needed. The assembly is model of the
working all come together and present themselves with complete discipline keeping good decorum. The
principal gives instructions uptodate
and the pupils may needs reading and speak on relevant subjects be
fitting period. This enables the students to maintain a well disciplined atmosphere in the school. Class
leaders are given the responsibility of maintaining class discipline and cleanliness. The pupils are divided
into four houses namely blue, green, red and yellow. All curricular, co curricular activities are carried out
in house basis only. News reading and matter of uptodate
importance also given care by the students.
SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS
Silver jubilee of this school was celebrated on 29th July 2010 within a colorful and befitting
manner. His highness Sri. Padmanabhadasa Uthradam Thirunnal Maharaja Marthandavarma inaugurated
the celebrations which lasted for a year. Many dignitaries from all walk of life attended the function and
blessed us. Adv. M.A. Vahid MLA, Sri. A Navas ward member Kazhakkutom, Smt. PH Harifal Beegum
AEO Kaniyapuram, Janab Abbas Sett, Dr. R Rajendran President IMA, Sri. Reynold J Gomez President
Rotary Club, Sri N Thajudeen PTA President spoke on the occasion. Our MD Sri. Sudhi Jabbar
welcomed the gathering and Sneha Anna Sunny proposed vote of thanks.
A proclamation of the silver jubilee was also conducted on 28th July in full gaiety and colorfulness.
I may state here that all these programmes were a great success with the sincere co operation of
management, staff, parents, students and dignitaries along with well wishers from the Kazhakkuttom and
sub urban area. People from all walks of life co operated which enabled everyone to assess the working
of the school for the last 25 years. The celebration concludes today and a far programmes and activities
are yet to be continued further.
During this period science exhibition inter school competitions and other relative programmes are
conducted.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS
We really had some proud moments of achievements this year. In connections with the silver
jubilee celebrations an old students association was formed. More than 200 students attended. Arun Lal

was elected as the secretary and executive committee consisting of 10 members is formed.
The members took very active part in the silver jubilee celebrations and future programs are also planned.
Parents’ meeting was also conducted and it was decided to form a parent teacher association. N
Thajudeen was elected as the president and an executive is also formed. The members meet together and
discuss the subject of importance mostly regarding the keeping up of high standard of education and
discipline in and outside school. In 201011
pupils of our school secured many prizes and awards.
Especially in sub district youth festival our school got over all championship in LP, UP, HS level conducted
by the AEO Kaniyapuram securing 113 points. Also for the 6th time we got overall championship in
Arabic kalolsavam. Many pupils got prizes in district level. In the Kerala state level competition which was
conducted at Kottayam Asiya Asharaf of STD X got first prize in Kathaprasangam (Arabic) and secured
A grade for all item presented in Arabic kalolsavam. This was achieved mainly because of our Arabic
teacher Sri. K Hassan Kunju who took very sincere very sincere effort and gave practice to the pupils. I
take this opportunity to thank Sri. K Hassan Kunju in the name of the management and the principal and
staff and students of the school.
In interschool science quiz competition held at OUR Public School, Menamkulam. two of our
students Sunil Kumar V and Muhammad Roshan participated and won the second place.
In keralolavam Sreelekshmy got first place in thiruvathira, 2nd in oppana, first in nadan nrutham,
first in patriotic song.
Asiya Asharaf won first in thiruvathira, mappilapattu, nadan nrutham, patriotic song and second in
oppana.
Salabhamela – Sreelekshmy bagged prizes in light music, ganamela, patriotic song, classical music,
violin and film song.
Sree Chithira Thirunnal Smaraka Sangeetha Natya Kala Kendram competition
Sulthana Najeeb – first prize in mohiniyattam
Competiton at AKG centre, Andoorkonam Sulthana Najeeb won Kalathilakam by 1st in
bharathanatyam, kuchuppudi, mohiniyattam, folk dance, kavitha rachana, oppana, thiruvathira, group dance,
prasangam(A grade), second in mono act, Katharachana, cinematic dance.
Salabhamela Sreelal SA got 1st in patriotic song and second in ganamela.
In memory of our founder Dr MA Abdul Jabbar interschool essay and elocution competitions in
English and Malayalam were held on 15th January 2011. Fathima N of std X won the ever rolling trophy
and cash award for getting 1st place in Malayalam elocution, Junna Ahmed of std IX won the 3rd place in
English essay writing.
LIBRARY
In our school there are 3114 book and a computer. Pupils are given time to read the books in the
library and habit of reading thus developed. During free time teachers make use of as smart class. The
librarian instructed to the pupils to prepare the report based on the books they have read. At the end of the
academic year pupils are asked to return them in good condition Smt. P.S. Sindhu is in charge of library.
COMPUTER LAB
The computer labs provide all facilities for computer education to our pupils the school has three
labs for each sections primary, high school and higher secondary section.
COIN PHONE
This year we had introduced a coin phone in the school.
CELEBRATIONS
Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanthi and republic day were celebrated in a befitting manner.
During the Gandhi Jayanthi, sevana dinam was observed. All pupils and members of the staff took
earnest care to clean the school premises keeping in mind the importance keeping our premises clean and
tidy.
Onam was celebrated in an enthusiastic spirit and co operation during the silver jubilee year
Athapoo was prepared by all classes and all were very good. A glass of payasam was also given to all
pupils and Onam sadya was served to all in our compounds.
SCIENCE CLUB AND SOCIAL SCIENCE CLUB
Activities are properly going on and the members were given occasion to do the activities in a
better way. Many pupils took part in the science exhibition ans presented the items in the sub district level
competitions.
Social science club members find time to make charts. Coin collections, stamp collections, etc and
present them for competitions.
STUDY TOUR
Pupils of STD X containing a group of 48 pupils were taken to Veega land on 22nd January 2011.
Principal and 6 teachers accompanied them. The group returned on 23rd at 3 30 am. It enabled the children
to know how to behave in such situations.
SSLC 2011 MARCH
This year we are presenting 86 pupils for the SSLC exam 2011 March. We pray that all come out
with higher grade.
HSS EXAM 2011 MARCH
We are presenting 63 pupils for XII exam. We wish everyone pass with higher positions.
JANA MAITHRI SURAKSHA PROGRAMME 2010
Our pupils and staff attended the seminar organized by Kazhakkuttom Police Station and Kerala
Women’s Commission on 27th November 2010 at Ragam auditorium.
PRIZES AND AWARDS
In connection with the Victor George Memorial drawing and painting competition held at our
public school two of our students Hameeda (VIII) and Manasa (VII) won the first the first and second
prizes respectively. In the drawing competition conducted by rotary club on the republic day Elvin Kuryan
of STD VIII won the first prize and Nandana of STD VIII won the second prize.

TROPHIES AND AWARDS
Rolling trophies for the house scoring maximum points for arts and sports are given.

Individual trophies were given also.
Teachers are regularly sent to attend cluster meetings and workshops organized by educational
departments.
MATHEMATICS CLUB
Those who are members are sent to the lab for making models and charts. Maths exhibition was
nicely conducted and allowed to participate in district level competition. The models, charts and projects
are kept in the mathematics lab. Smt. L.N. Bindhu Kumari is in charge of the club.
PCM EXAMINATION
Our pupils took part in the PCM examination. Shereen Fathima A (Class I) got grade A2 with
scholarship.
SUGAMA HINDI EXAM
This year we are presenting 215 students from HS and HSS is to be conducted on 5th February
2011. I wish all of them great success.
MOTHER PTA
As per the direction of the management a forum of all mothers are set up and a study class was
conducted by the Retd. Principal of Mar Theophilus Trg College Prof. Mary Mathew. It was very
beneficial to them. An executive committee headed by Benediela Miranda is functioning.
SUCHITHWA SENA
As per the direction of the department Suchithwasena was formed on August 19th 2010.
Importance and necessity of keeping our premises clean and tidy is spread in our school and by visiting
houses. Stickers prepared by the pupils were distributed to the houses nearby. Their service helps the
premises and class rooms neat. Kumari S Ashapriya is in charge of Suchithwasena.
CONCLUSION
Before I conclude I should say a word of thanks to so many who have helped me in discharging
my duties. During this year of silver jubilee many are to be thanked. Let me thank the Almighty for
celebrating the jubilee in a colorful and beneficial way. Let me thank my beloved madam Smt. Balkis
Jabbar for the deep interest and concern and also for the timely advice given to me for efficient
functioning.
My sincere thanks to beloved managing director Sri. Sudhi Jabbar who always has been an
inspiration and true guide in all my endeavors. His youthful energy and resourcefulness gives me and all
here to work and fulfill the aim of the founder Dr. MA Abdul Jabbar.
Our administrative officer Smt. Salma Sudhi takes personnel care and interest in the activities of
the school. Best wishes to her.
My sincere thanks go to all members of Abdul Razzaq memorial trust who all contributed their
might and work for the success of the silver jubilee celebration.
The consultant Sri. Kwaja Meiah is to be specially thanked for the special care and advice to do
my duties in a better way.
Smt. Deepa Kumari (Vice Principal) and K Hassan Kunju( Staff Secretary) are always helping
me to run the school efficiently. Non teaching staffs are very keen in carrying out their duties. My special
thanks to them.
My special thanks to our sister concern AJ Senior Secondary School Principal Smt. Lali Jose and
staff for their support.
The heads of AJ College, Pharmacy College, ITC are specially remembered. Sri Sali our GM is to
be thanked. Sri. Sunil Kumar principal pharmacy college is thanked for the affection shown to me and our
school.
I should say that the teachers who are committed and dedicated to their work cached the success
and achievement in all fields. The members of the PTA, old students’ association are specially thanked for
their devotedness.
I take this opportunity to thank all educational officers DPI, DD, DEO and AEO. Smt. PH Harifal
Begum is to be specially thanked for the support and care always in achieving everything academic/non
academic.
I thank all well wishers who pray and work for the institution.
Last but not the least I sincerely thank my loving children who always have been an inspiration
and strength. I thank all parents who send their children and giving all help and support.
Let me conclude this report thanking god for the abundant blessings he has showered on this
school for the last 25 years. We hope that as the years pass by we shall stride forward and make this
